Equipping a Weapon of Sorrow
Before you can begin hunting for the hidden pathways, your Guardian must equip a certified Weapon of Sorrow to reveal the necessary Hive runes. Eligible options include legendary exotics like Thorn, Osteo Striga, Touch of Malice, and Necrochasm. Utilizing these corrupted firearms is the only way to interact with the secret locks scattered throughout the quest environments.
For solo players or those missing these specific weapons, launching the activity within a prepared fireteam offers an excellent alternative path. If your team leader has the requirements met, you can join the instance seamlessly without needing to complete individual prerequisite tracking. Ensuring your loadout is ready saves valuable time before heading to the Scarlet Keep.
Triggering the Secret Runes in the Scarlet Keep
The journey officially begins by launching the standard Scarlet Keep Strike on the Moon and progressing naturally to the final arena. During the intense battle against Hashladun, do not defeat the boss immediately, but instead focus on the surrounding architecture. Equipping your Weapon of Sorrow will reveal three glowing green Hive symbols hidden high on the arena walls.
Shooting these three runes in any order lowers the iron bars securing the main gate behind the boss platform. Once Hashladun falls, head through the newly opened gate and explore the chamber to the right to find a mysterious Hive crystal. Investigating this object updates your tracking parameters and reveals four unique suspicious signals across the Moon map.
Tracking the Suspicious Signals
Guardians must travel to four separate sectors on the Moon to track down hidden Cabal scout teams and solve matching rune locks. In Archer's Line, find the fallen trooper in the central crater before entering the Shrine of Oryx to solve the matching wall puzzle. Similar tracking steps must be completed at the Anchor of Light colony structure to access the Temple of Crota crystal.
The remaining signals require deep exploration inside the Hellmouth leading to the Chamber of Night, and finishing the K1 Revelation Lost Sector in Sorrow's Harbor. At each locked door, shoot the glowing wall symbols from top to bottom exactly as they appear on the main seal to progress. Completing all four investigative steps officially unlocks the final coordinates for the main activity.
Launching the Oblation Bloodline Mission
With all database signals active, return to Sorrow's Harbor and locate the massive bridge leading toward the Scarlet Keep structure. Drop down carefully below the eastern footing of the bridge to discover a hidden tunnel opening built into the foundation walls. Following this dark corridor to the left leads directly to the physical starting banner for the secret Exotic mission.
